^Lot 266 Ancient Phosphatherium Fossilized Mandible Section

Late Paleocene until the early Eocene some 56 million years ago of North Africa. Wonderful ancient and well preserved section of the lower jaw section of an extinct Phosphatherium, who was related to the elephant family. Hourglass section is where the upper fangs would slide through with ease. Size 5 1/4" L, Weight 0.7 lb.. Condition: Well preserved overall condition with ancient losses as shown throughout.
